ACS&T brings the taste of Italy to the UK

Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire, UK: Ticco Foods has signed a supply agreement with ACS&T to provide a centralised, integrated logistics service.

Ticco Foods supplies Italian sweets and savouries to the foodservice sector, and is the sole UK distributor of Bindi Italian desserts, gelato and sorbetti and Buoni e Pronti savoury snacks.

ACS&T operates two dedicated Ticco Foods trucks, liveried in the company’s trademark.

Malcolm Johnstone, managing director,  ACS&T says: “Under the terms of the contract, we will continue to provide a raft of solutions for Ticco’s route to market by receiving inbound stock into our Wolverhampton depot from suppliers in the UK and Italy.

“We’re then picking from hundreds of different product lines to create consolidated pallets for onward delivery to Ticco’s customers, in a service that will save them money on both storage and delivery costs.

“ACS&T have supplied Ticco Foods with storage, picking and delivery services for many years. During that time, we’ve built up an excellent working partnership by providing a flexible, dependable service, tailored to ensure that each product reaches its destination in tip-top condition.”

Jay Sanghera, managing director of  Ticco Foods, says: “Our working relationship with ACS&T continues to be very successful. Their knowledge of our products, coupled with a very high standard of service means we have never needed to look elsewhere for our logistics solutions.

“Our pastries, cakes and fine breads are extremely delicate products, so for us, ACS&T’s ability to make sure the fragile products are stacked, moved and handled with ultimate care is really important. Our key objective is to ensure that our customers receive perfect pastries, desserts, ice creams and savouries that look as delicious as they did when they came into our store.”

“The sheer number of different products and the relatively small quantities of each required per order means that picking for Ticco Foods is an intricate process. ACS&T make sure they check each pallet and product before delivery, to make sure customers receive the correct cakes at the right destination, every time,” he says.
