Airborn temperature monitoring for pharma product

Irving, TX, US: OnAsset Intelligence and Envirotainer are partnering to install real-time data collection and GPS tracking systems on containers for pharamcuetical air feight.

“Our partnership with OnAsset is an important step forward in our ongoing commitment to deliver advanced products and services to the healthcare industry and active management of the global cold chain,” said Gustaf Ljunggren, chief executive, Envirotainer.

“The emphasis on quality transportation of healthcare products is a key focus for both companies, and we believe the integration of FlightSafe® technology and real-time data services will improve the customer experience of our active cold chain network across the globe.”

The RKN e1 and RAP e2 active containers offer temperature control, based on compressor cooling and electric heating technologies for products in global air transport. Currently, data on the condition of products inside is gathered 24/7 but is not available for review until the containers reach specific destinations. By incorporating the patented, FAA-compliant FlightSafe communications platform from OnAsset, the RKN e1 and RAP e2 containers will transmit location, condition and temperature-sensitive information anytime the containers are on the ground.

This way, Envirotainer’s customers have immediate access to quality data and the peace of mind regarding product condition throughout transit. Partners within the active cold chain network will also have real-time condition alerts on the container to facilitate proactive response procedures, maintenance awareness and improved return procedures.
