Best practice in Middle East pharma cold chain

Dubai, UAE: Global events company IQPC says its 2nd Annual Cold Chain Middle East Summit in Dubai will address the urgent concerns and challenges of the Middle East marketplace for the distribution of temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals. The summit will address the quality and efficiency for temperature controlled transport of biopharmaceuticals, transport providers and packaging.

IQPC points out that latest market reports show cold chain growth in the US and EU at 19%, Asia at 50%, and in the rest of world at 33%. It states that, according to the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency, 43% of critical and major product deficiencies are related to ineffective temperature control and monitoring during storage and transport.

According to the World Health Organization, 25% of all vaccine products arrive at their final destination in a degraded state. As a result, there is a great focus on effective cold chain management for pharmaceutical companies and more stringent control from regulators to ensure the delivery of safe and effective drugs to patients, says IQPC.
