Poznan, Poland: Blulog’s NFC temperature data loggers can be directly read with a simple smartphone.
Easily insertable in any shipment due to its small size, its use is simple: choose the temperature limits, time thresholds for activation of the alerts diodes and measurement interval.
In case of a prolonged temperature breach during transport, a red diode will start blinking to indicate that there was a breach in the cold chain. The recipient places his or her smartphone (equipped with NFC) next to the logger to visualise the whole temperature history and quickly decide whether or not the shipment has to be sent back.
“With 60 % of our food currently refrigerated, maintaining the cold chain is a significant health challenge,” says Jérémy Laurens, sales and marketing director, Blulog.
“Around 10 % of food losses are due to a breach in the cold chain. This figure rises dramatically to 23 % in emerging countries.”
The Blulog solution presents a major advantage for large companies wanting to make fast decisions as well for NGOs having limited infrastructure, he says.
“The Blulog NFC logger can also be programmed with any kind of shipping or product information, to further simplify logisitics. Its autonomy ranges from one month to one year, thus making it suitable for any kind of transport : by road, by rail, by plane or by sea.”
Other applications are possible, Laurens says. The blulog NFC logger can be used to monitor temperature in fridges or cold rooms. A simple monthly scan would then replace the two daily necessary readings. A real gain of time and money, he says.
The system is reusable, made in EU, is particularly affordable: prices start at €8.
