Brakes boss exits after management shake-up

London, UK: Stefan Barden, UK chief executive of Brakes, has left the business after a management re-organisation led to the axing of his position.

The re-organisation will see roles previously reporting to the UK chief executive report to the group chief executive, Philip Jansen. As a consequence Barden has stepped down with immediate effect and the role is not being replaced.

The foodservice supplier said the economic environment “remained challenging”.  A business review concluded that a simplified management structure with shorter reporting lines and accountability was the best structure for the business the company said in a statement.

Brakes Group has turnover of £2.8bn and operates in the UK, Ireland, France and Sweden.
