Cold Move switches to Marshall after trial

Oswestry, Shropshire, UK:  Cambridge 11th September 2012:  Fuel efficiency was a major factor in the latest purchase decision for Shropshire-based temperature-controlled storage and distribution specialists,

Cold Move has specified Thermo King SLX300 single-temperature refrigeration units supplied by Marshall Fleet Solutions for sixteen new trailers. Cold move ran a two-day fuel trial to measure fuel efficiency with the refrigeration units tested on site at Cold Move in Oswestry with trailers supplied by specialist transport company Cadwallader.

Eight SLX300s have entered into service on Schmitz Cargobull trailers, with the remainder fitted on Krone trailers to follow shortly.  Cold Move has also awarded Marshall Fleet Solutions the maintenance contract for the units.

James Woodward, managing director, Cold Move says:  “Fuel efficiency was our primary concern as part of our company commitment to reduce our carbon footprint;  the SLX gave us what we were looking for.
“Marshall Fleet Solutions’ maintenance contract was not only competitively priced with excellent national coverage, but their maintenance depot is in very close proximity to ours.”

Andrew Howells, Marshall Fleet Solutions’ managing director, said: “The SLX300 is sold on the basis of its reduced environmental impact, and it was excellent to see this backed up in Cold Move’s fuel trials.  Fuel efficiency will of course only be one of many of the benefits of this unit.  We look forward to supporting Cold Move in the future.”
