Cool Running adds five Mercedes vans

Rochdale, UK: Cool Running Rental has added five medium wheelbase Mercedes Sprinters to its fleet. The acquisition takes the Cool Running temperature-controlled fleet passed the 65 mark.

The latest batch were supplied by Road Range of Liverpool and converted by GRP Leeds www.grp-group.co.uk with refrigerated units supplied by GAH.

All Cool Running Rental vehicles have electrical standby, freezer spec conversion capable of at least -18 degrees, and all 3.5 tonne vehicles capable of being dual-compartment by means of a moveable bulkhead. Some are also equipped with a heat facility to service the pharmaceutical trade.

Richard Cotton, managing director of rental company Rentruck, the owner of Cool Running Rental and licencees of the United Rental Group, was says: “Cool Running Rental began in 1996 as an off-shoot  of our ambient fleet, Rentruck.

“We have steadily increased the fleet since then, and have been delighted to use GRP at Leeds due to the quality and speed of build. We have a very good relationship with GRP and work very closely with Lawrence Ness, their sales director. We insist on using GAH units and take a 24/7 parts and servicing contract out with them on all our vehicles, for peace of mind for our end-user. With our close ties to Birmingham-based Next Car and Van Rental, we have 2 outlets capable of delivering to the whole of the UK,  more often than not within 24 hours of receiving a reservation.

Cool Running Rental is exhibiting, in conjunction with Next Rental, in the Cold Pavilion at the CV Show  at the NEC in April.
