Chard, Somerset, UK: Food product courier firm BW Refrigerated Couriers is switching all its panel vans to Mercedes Sprinters with Somers ATP certified conversions.
BW recently added six medium wheelbase Mercedes Sprinter vans and one long wheelbase Sprinter van to its 20-strong panel van fleet. All are Somers refrigerated van conversions with GAH Super Rapier SR351F low-temperature refrigeration systems.
The twin-compartment bodies have a front frozen compartment that operates to -25° C and rear chilled compartment at 0° C with the bodies designed to handle up to 20 door openings per 8-hour distribution cycle. All the new Mercedes Sprinters work on regular courier contracts, mainly in the Midlands, South Wales, London and the South of England.
The vehicles deliver and collect samples and pallets for food producers, manufacturers, processors and wholesalers, as well as working on more diverse operations such as food samples for supermarket headquarters, photographic and television studios.
