Market Drayton, UK: Up to 70 jobs hang in the balance after a major client’s contract was cut back at Shropshire-based food and drink industry transport giant Culina, reports the Shropshire Star newspaper.
The firm said staff at its Stafford site were likely to be affected by the changes, with no jobs at risk in Shropshire. Debbi Hutt, from Culina told the newspaper that the potential job losses were sparked by cutbacks at a key client, which the company declined to name.
She said: “It’s all to do with the Stafford site. We had a client who was making cutbacks so now we are trying to consult with staff about the impact.
“We are trying to redeploy as many as we can but we will have to lose up to 70 jobs in Stafford. It doesn’t impact on any of our other sites,” she said.
Culina Logistics has 2,300 employees at nine centres.
