CV Show backed by Britain’s big names

Birmingham, UK:  The 2013 Commercial Vehicle Show is set to be worthy of the title ‘International’ as most of the key players in the truck marketplace congregate at Britain’s National Exhibition Centre from 9-11 April.

Volvo Trucks returns for first time since 2008; Iveco makes first manufacturer-backed appearance in five years; and Daf is back after a gap last year but with a bigger stand.

Already 16% more exhibitors have signed-up than this time last year say the show organisers.

Next year’s show will be the only springtime European opportunity for manufacturers to present their latest products and innovations and it looks as though the Show will be providing the perfect backdrop for several important industry launches. And truck makers be showing their solutions for Euro 6 set to start in January 2014.

Highlights are:

  • DAf with its new Euro 6 XF
  • Volvo will make a splash with its recently launched new FH series
  • Mercedes-Benz UK will be showing its new ‘urban hero’, the Mercedes-Benz Citan
  • It will be five years since Iveco has exhibited at the Commercial Vehicle Show in its own right but it too will be back showing its flagship Stralis Hi-Way, winner of the International Truck of the Year Award 2013
  • MAN will use the show the first UK showing of its Euro 6 cabs
  • Isuzu is launching the next stage of its driver and operator management telematics system, Mimamori 2.

The 2013 Commercial Vehicle Show is set for success. Road transport provides a very accurate barometer for the health of the rest of the UK economy, and indications are that road transport looks set to play an even greater part in the economic recovery and future success of UK plc.
