Kempten, Munich. Dachser, posted double-digit growth and raised group revenue by 13% to €4.3bn for 2011.
“Following the crisis and a period of recovery the markets stabilized again somewhat last year. Dachser was thus able to return to the growth corridor we have defined as being ideal for long-term organic growth,” Bernhard Simon, head of the Dachser management board, said.
Dachser European Logistics generated revenue of €2.6bn, 61% of the group’s total revenue. Dachser Food Logistics raised its revenue in 2011 to €555m – an increase in revenue of 16%. The business “held its ground well in the market and contributed 13% to overall group revenue” the company said in a statement.
“In the current financial year Dachser is again looking to increase growth by double-digit rates and invest in the expansion of its European and international network,” the company said.
• In 2012 Dachser bought Rochdale-based Leach for an undisclosed sum adding to its existing branches in Northampton and Dartford. Dachser, which has 300 locations worldwide and has had a presence in the UK since 1975, said Leach has now been fully integrated into the business. It is investing more than £150,000 to upgrade Leach’s IT system to connect it to Dachser’s European network, meaning new routes in Germany, France, Spain and Poland can be served. It is also looking to increase its warehouse facilities in the north west and will be upgrading its vehicles this year.
