DB Schenker expands temperature-controlled air freight

Bonn, Germany: DB Schenker Logistics is expanding temperature-controlled air freight and increasing its network of QEP accredited locations.

Zurich and Basel, Indianapolis, Tokyo and Osaka, and Melbourne and Sydney were recently accredited in cooperation with Envirotainer, provider of active temperature-controlled air freight containers. Accreditation confirms that DB Schenker processes temperature-sensitive consignments professionally and in compliance with official requirements as a Qualified Envirotainer Provider (QEP).

Services are geared specifically to customers in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries and increasingly to the market for perishable foods. Nine more locations are slated to be gain QEP status by the end of March 2013.

By doing so, we, along with Envirotainer, are ensuring that our customers’ need for a seamless temperature-controlled worldwide supply chain is met,” said Thomas Mack, senior vice president and head of global air freight, Schenker AG.
