Delice de France keeps cool with Norbert Dentressangle

Nuneaton, UK: Norbert Dentressangle has won a new temperature-controlled warehousing contract with baked goods manufacturer Delice de France.

Delice de France is the UK’s leading manufacturer and distributor of fine continental breads, viennoiserie, savoury and confectionery products, including hospitality goods, primarily to the foodservice and catering industry. Based in Southall, it is part of Aryzta AG, a global food business with a leadership position in speciality bakery, headquartered in Zurich.

Norbert Dentressangle is providing 3,500 pallet spaces within its shared-user cold store in Nuneaton and is responsible for the receipt of product from Delice de France’s manufacturing facilities in the UK, Ireland and the USA and the picking of orders for delivery by Delice de France’s own fleet to customers throughout the UK.

In support of the operation, Norbert Dentressangle employs specialist equipment for de-topping and inverting pallets from overseas and has invested in voice technology to optimise picking accuracy and efficiency.

Previously, Delice de France operated its own warehouse at Stone in Staffordshire. Following Norbert Dentressangle’s appointment, the company benefits from a highly cost-effective dedicated warehousing solution within a shared environment, which also offers flexibility to accommodate any fluctuations in volumes.

Dave Gregson, operation manager at Delice de France, says: “As one of the biggest providers of logistics services in the frozen food sector, we already knew Norbert Dentressangle by reputation and this was fully endorsed by their ability to provide the service we needed, in the right location and on the right terms.”
