DHL buys Italian pharmaceutical transport firm

Milan, Italy: DHL Supply Chain has acquired Italy-based pharmaceutical transport company Eurodifarm.

The move forms part of DHL Supply Chain Italy’s plan of “developing DHL´s customer relationships in the life sciences and healthcare industry”.

Milan-based Eurodifarm specialises in the temperature-controlled distribution of pharmaceutical, diagnostic products and medical devices. For the past three years, the company has been controlled by the “Wisequity II and Macchine Italia” fund managed by private equity firm Wise SGR.

Eurodifarm handles around three million deliveries per year, across seven distribution centres, and a temperature controlled nationwide distribution network.

With this acquisition we will now be able to provide exceptionally high quality services in temperature controlled product management and distribution within Italy.

“The proven logistics expertise of DHL Supply Chain combined with the financial strength of our group promises our customers even more innovations and tailor-made solutions in the not-so-far future,” he says.
