Northallerton, North Yorkshire, UK: Six dedicated charging bays for refrigerated road transport have been installed at the secure truck park of Exelby Coneygarth on the A1(M) Junction 51.
These are the first in the UK outside NomadPower’s network with Moto Hospitality.
Rob Exelby, managing director, Exelby Coneygarth , said: “We are operating a modern and secure truck park at Junction 51 on the A1(M). Noisy and polluting diesel generators are a real nuisance for drivers at night. By installing these new NomadPower hook up power facilities we are reducing noise and pollution at the parking. This fits our strategy to operate one of the best truck parks in the UK and together work towards sustainable road transport”.
Hans Bevers, NomadPower, said: “We are excited to work with Exelby and opening our first location with them in the UK. We are now offering NomadPower at eight large truck parks in the UK and are expecting to add several more later this year”.
NomadPower operates electricity supply points at large truck parks in Europe. It has 225 power sockets at 50 locations and is the largest charging network for refrigerated road transport in Europe.

“Our clients are experiencing the benefits of switching off the gen sets and running the cool units on electricity on a daily basis. Less noise at night for drivers, cheaper than using diesel and clean air for us all,” Bevers said.
