Fitzgerald to offer reefer bodies in the UK

Skelmersdale, UK: Fitzgerald Vehicles Works has opened a new production centre in Skelmersdale to develop business in the UK.

The Ireland based company started in 1971, supplying dry freight van, tippers, trailers and fridge vehicle bodywork.

From its 2-acre Skelmersdale site, which includes a new paint booth installed to accommodate double deckers, Fitzgerald will serve operators in Manchester, Liverpool, Warrington, Bolton, and Wigan.

“At first the premises will be used as a major repair centre,” says owner, John Fitzgerald.  “New bodywork will be the next phase of development.  Refrigerated vehicles will definitely be part of the offer for new vehicles in due course,” he says

The management team includes John Fitzgerald’s son, Steven and Daniel Laffly.  Dave Shaw, previously with Lamberet, has joined the company as business development manager.
