Nantwich: F J Need Foods has taken delivery of two Cool Liner refrigerated trailers from Krone Trailers UK which the company expects to be virtually cost-free to operate.
FJ Need Foods, supplies grated, block and sliced cheese to wholesales, caterers, and food manufacturers as well as Spinneyfields-branded food products.
Fleet transport manager, Simon Platt says: “We chose Krone because they are simply a better standard of temperature controlled trailer and are very cost- effective to run. These two trailers will be with us for three years and I don’t expect to see many maintenance bills.”

The Cool Liners will operate at zero degrees for deliveries in the UK and Europe. Each liveried trailer remains with the same tractor and driver thereby ensuring maximum accountability and control.
For improved appearance and aerodynamics, the trailers are fitted with side skirts and alloy wheels.
“We originally had one Krone trailer and it proved to be a valuable asset,” Platt says.
“The drivers liked it and it was definitely built to last. This time round, we decided to repeat our investment in a quality product with the full knowledge that we can expect reliability and low cost of ownership.”
