Washington, DC, US: Atul Khanna, (pictured) director of Global Cold Chain Alliance India, has been awarded a Certificate of Appreciation for Achievement in Trade, by the United States Department of Commerce US Commercial Service in recognition of his contribution to expanding trade between the United States and India.
As an example of how Khanna is fostering relationships and building trade connections, he recently hosted a meeting between GCCA India and a delegation of four US representatives, including three US State Department officials: Robert D Hormats, under secretary of state for economic growth, energy and environment; John Duncan, senior advisor; and Anjana Modi, senior economic advisor. Rafaela Zuidema, control officer at the US Embassy in India, also participated.
At the meeting, the challenges and opportunites facing the cold chain in India were discussed, and several agriculture importers also participated in the later part of the meeting.
“We are delighted that Atul has received this honour,” said GCCA chief executive Bill Hudson. “India holds so much potential for increased trade and development of the cold chain that it is vital that we promote it in every way possible. He is doing an outstanding job in this area.”
