Plymouth, WI, US: Glacier Transit & Storage has demonstrated its strong environmental leadership and corporate responsibility by joining the SmartWay Transport Partnership.
“The SmartWay Transport Partnership goals fit our organization’s mission and reaffirm that we are doing our part as responsible corporate citizens,” the company said in a statement today.
SmartWay is a collaborative effort between the US Environmental Protection Agency and industry that provides a framework to assess the environmental and energy efficiency of supply chains.
Developed jointly in early 2003 by the agency and partners from industry, environmental groups, American Trucking Associations and Business for Social Responsibility, this innovative program was launched in 2004. Partners rely upon SmartWay tools and approaches to track and reduce emissions and fuel use from goods movement. The Partnership now has over 3000 Partners.
