Growth looks positive for pharma supply and logistics

London, UK: A new survey of pharmaceutical supply and logistics reveals that a majority of manufacturers of life science products and temperature-control solution/service providers plan to invest in new technologies to tackle supply chain challenges and improve the efficiency of their operations.

The 2012 BioPharma Supply Chain in Recessionary Times report, from Cold Chain IQ, suggests that pharma supply professionals are optimistic about job prospects, and growth is predicted for 2013 and beyond.

Key Findings:

  • 84% of manufacturers think their company is better prepared to cope if a recession hits in 2013
  • Over half of manufacturers of life science products (53%) are looking to expand into Asia in the next 12 – 18 months
  • 46% of life science manufacturers think their company should be investing in packaging in the next 12 months to increase profitability.
