Kerry Logistics acquires two Chinese operators

Shanghai, China: Kerry Logistics has acquired a controlling interest in two groups of companies in China; Shanghai Wisdom Group and Shanghai Huicheng Logistics.

Wisdom, a non-vessel operating common carrier, operates sea freight consolidation platforms and ranks in the top three companies operating out of Shanghai serving the Japan and Southeast Asia trade routes.

HCL is a logistics provider handling chemicals, dangerous goods, fast moving consumer goods, electromechanical and automotive industries.

Edwardo Erni, managing director, mainland China, at Kerry Logistics says: “These two acquisitions demonstrate our commitment to building on our strong position in both the ocean freight and logistics sectors in China.

“We are always looking to provide our customers with an improved level of service and to strengthen our comprehensive domestic logistics network in China.”

• Kerry Logistics has the Marks and Spencer contract for logistics services across Greater China. Kerry will manage and operate M&S’s national distribution centre in mainland China as well as its regional distribution centre in Hong Kong. Food merchandise is being handled from Kerry Logistics’ cold store facility in Tsuen Wan, Hong Kong.
