Vancouver, Canada: Kuehne + Nagel is to take over Perishables International Transportation Inc for an undisclosed sum.
Perishables International Transportation is a freight forwarder specialising in handling and transport of fresh and frozen perishable goods including fruits, vegetables and seafood.
Tim Scharwath, Kuehne + Nagel’s executive vice president air logistics says: “Following the general expansion of our perishables logistics business in Australia, Europe and South America, the acquisition of Perishables International Transportation allows us to grow these activities in North America,” said
“The timing of this transaction ahead of the peak season is ideal and will also strengthen our position in the Canadian airfreight market,” Scharwath said.
