Kuehne+Nagel expands into temperature-controlled logistics

Amsterdam, Netherlands: Kuehne+Nagel is to buy J van de Put Fresh Cargo Handling, a Dutch distributor of perishable goods.

Karl Gernandt, chairman of Kuehne+Nagel, said: “This acquisition follows our global expansion strategy in the field of perishables logistics.

“Our customers will benefit from temperature controlled door-to-door logistics solutions for perishable goods that require highly specialised handling know-how.”

J van de Put, located at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, is a family owned company founded in 1976. It handles perishable airfreight cargo such as flowers, plant cuttings, fruits, and vegetables. It also offers vacuum cooling, temperature controlled storage, delivery and distribution in Europe.

The transaction is subject to approval of relevant competition authorities.
