Altoona, IA, US: Iowa Cold Storage, a provider of temperature-controlled warehousing, logistics, and transport for food products in the midwestern United States, is saving more than US$30,000 per year in total lighting costs following a lighting retrofit installed in its 18,500-sq metre warehouse in Altoona IA.
SmartWatt Energy, an energy-efficiency firm specialising in the refrigerated and frozen warehouse industry carried out the upgrade. The work involved replacing 328 metal halide lighting fixtures with energy-efficient LED lighting.
The new energy-efficient lighting reduces lighting-related energy consumption by 71%.
