Linage Logistics acquires Seattle Cold Storage

Algona, WA, US: Linage Logistics has acquired has acquired the assets of Seattle Cold Storage and its facilities in the Port of Tacoma and Algona WA. Terms were not disclosed.

Seattle Cold Storage has 39,000sq metres (420,000 sq ft) of freezer and chilled storage capacity at its two locations and provides temperature-controlled storage, retail distribution and transport services.

Linage says the acquisition gives it 1.2m sq metres (13m sq ft) of refrigerated warehouse space making it the second largest refrigerated warehouse network globally.

“We plan to make long-term improvements to the facilities to enhance capacity and increase energy efficiency,” said Adam Forste, managing director of Linage’s parent company, Bay Grove Capital, a San Francisco investment firm.

Bay Grove said it has built Linage up in the last four years through nine acquisitions including the July 2012 purchase of Castle & Cooke Cold Storage in Colton, California.
