MAN signs up for CV Show 2012

Birmingham, UK: Big vehicle manufacturers are throwing their weight behind the Commercial Vehicle Show next year, with MAN, Ford, Vauxhall, Renault and Citroen among those already signed up.

MAN’s marketing and communication manager Martin Pickering says that there was never any doubt that they would attend because “last year was so successful for us”.

For MAN the show is not just about selling trucks – although obviously that helps – but about “brand awareness, building customer knowledge”.

The MAN stand is 700m2 and is nearby other major truck builders, including Iveco and Mercedes.

Even the long economic lull does not appear to be putting the manufacturers off. Pickering says: “I think it’s more important than ever to be visible in a downturn.”

Other manufacturers agree that the CV Show is important. Scott Michael, Citroen’s commercial vehicle operations manager, says: “The CV Show has been of great value to Citroen in its LCV marketing strategy. With major developments in had for virtually all models in our advanced LCV range, we expect the 2012 show to be more important than ever.”

The CV Show is at Birmingham NEC from 24 – 26 April 2012.
