Masy to build new cold storage site

Pepperell, MA, US: Masy Systems has begun building a new 175-cubic-metre cold storage site to keep drugs and other materials at extremely low temperatures for the biotech and pharmaceutical industry.

Matt Dionne, marketing manager for Masy System, says that demand has grown quickly since it opened its site three years ago, which maintains a temperature of -75 degrees Celsius. He said that the expense and room required to have such storage on-site is often more than biotech companies can afford.

“We’re finding that a lot of companies don’t even have space to have cold storage,” he said.

The new cold storage site will be completed this autumn. Masy provides equipment rentals and storage for the pharmaceutical and biotech industries.
