Mumbai, India: Management at Mumbai’s International Airport have sought to reassure customers that recent problems over a lack of adequate cold storage have largely been resolved.
Local press reports quoted a source at the airport who said: “The situation is under control, though a number of problems with respect to food storage sprung up last week.”
He hinted at the lack of adequate cold storage systems that meant importers were urged to avoid landing of large consignments at the airport.
And he admitted that the provision for storing large consignments of food was not yet made but that smaller consignments were welcome.
Press reports suggest that customs officials have come down strongly on Mumbai International Airport for the neglect of the cold storage issue.
