New bulkhead systems from CBF

Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, UK: Commercial Body Fittings (CBF) has a new concept in bulkhead technology that incorporates the lightweight Cool-Guard core with the Easy-Lift lifting and lowering device. This allows the bulkhead to be raised and stored in the roof of the vehicle, when not in use.

The Easy-Lift can be used with CBF’s track and roller system, allowing the bulkhead to move along the length of the vehicle and secured into the desired position.  The Easy-Lift meets the requirements of major bodybuilders and fleet operators, says Simon Ragless, special projects manager, CBF.

The design takes up a minimum of roof space and the bulkhead is held firmly against the vehicle ceiling when stowed. The unit is made from anodised aluminium, uses nylon guides, and is fully corrosion resistant.

“A range of bulkhead configurations are available to order, from small home delivery vans to articulated trailers, and can now be manufactured at the production facility in the West Midlands, generally available within a 7-10 day production time, subject to demand,” Ragless says.

The Cool-Guard core is manufactured from expanded polystyrene, a closed-cell moisture resistant material that prevents water ingress and bacteria forming, a common problem with other mattress-style bulkheads. The core has GRP stiffeners to provide rigidity and avoid sagging. Standard on all bulkheads is a heavy-duty skid-guard that prevents damage to the bottom of the unit when operated and scuffed along the vehicle floor. The guard significantly reduces the incidence of repairs, he says.

CBF has also recently launched its range of TF-Tech and VF-Tech fan kits to suit applications where dual temperature control is required: the units suit panel van and articulated trailers.
