Norbert Dentressangle sees strong growth

Saint-Vallier, France: Norbert Dentressangle’s group transport revenue has continued its upward climb, rising 9.2% to US$652.3m (€440m) and growing 8.6% on a like-for-like basis in the first quarter of 2011. The performance included the impact of higher diesel fuel prices on selling prices of some 3%.

The logistics business experienced growth too in the first quarter of 2011, with revenue up 6.7% on a published basis and up 4.4% like-for-like. The positive growth trend was seen in all geographical regions, particularly the UK, Italy and the Netherlands.

A year after its launch, the new freight forwarding activity generated revenue of US$15m (€10m), benefiting from the consolidation of the Schneider Logistics’ freight forwarding business and the division’s own organic growth.

The company completed the acquisition of UK-based TDG on 28 March.
