Daventry, UK: Llanelli-based chilled food company NR Evans has said it is “very shocked and saddened by the tragic death of one of our long-term drivers”.
The driver, Luke Carter, was killed on the A5 on 6 January when his 44-tonne MAN tractor unit and trailer crashed into four stationary HGVs parked in a layby on the southbound carriageway of the A5 near Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal.
According to Commercial Motor, this was the first fatality in 28 years of the company’s trading. Carter had worked for NR Evans for 18 years.
