Redditch, UK: Oakland Distribution has launched a scheme for chilled products for the wholesale, cash and carry, food service and independents sectors in the UK.
The new scheme complements additional bespoke wholesale schemes currently available from the distributor.
Gemma Robinson, business development manager, Oakland, says: “In essence, what we’re offering is a complete range of branded and non-branded chilled products, from which customers order a consolidated mixed range of products, with only the stipulation that they order a minimum of 100 cases of product at a time.”
The Oakland Wholesale Direct scheme is based around regular ordering, offering a flexible and reactive service which ensures maximisation of both product freshness and range; with regular promotions and discount opportunities on bulk purchases available, she says.
Pork Farms is using the new service. Andy Napthine, brand Manager, Pork Farms says: “We have a clear strategy to build a substantial impulse business building on the quality and positioning of our branded products. We needed a supply chain partner who could manage this complex route to market thereby allowing our own teams to focus on building the brand and ultimately, therefore Oakland is an ideal partner to help us achieve our strategic aims.”
“This initiative of purchasing in volume means we can buy competitively, and in turn we are then able to pass those savings on to our wholesale customers.” Robinson says.
