Reed Boardall chairs International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses

Alexandria, VA, US: Garry Tilburn, managing director of Reed Boardall Cold Storage in North Yorkshire, United Kingdom, is  elected as the chair of the International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses.

Tilburn holds the post for 2011-2012 and is the fourth European to serve as chair of IARW. He succeeds Mark Blanchard from New Orleans Cold Storage.

Other new association officers elected for the coming year are David Harlan, chief executive of United States Cold Storage as vice-chair and Doug Thomas, chief executive of Bellingham Cold Storage as treasurer.

New directors-at-large elected to serve three-year terms are Terry Brown, president, ICS Logistics, Eben James, chief executive of Trenton Cold Storage, and Joel Smith, chief executive of VersaCold Canada.

Janice Scott, chief financial officer of Commercial Cold Storage was elected as 2011-2012 chair of the World Food Logistics Organization, an education and research foundation affiliated with the association.  Other new officers for the organisation are Larry Rauch, president, Los Angeles Cold Storage Co as vic- chair and Bill Hendricksen, chief executive of Castle & Cook Cold Storage as treasurer.
