Peterborough, UK: The Road Haulage Association is funding funding an intern, Sam Hargreaves, to work for the All Party Parliamentary Freight Group, chaired by member of parliament Rob Flello.
“Having an intern that can push forward the pro-freight agenda is incredibly helpful”, says Flello.
“ I’m delighted that the RHA have been able to support this venture and it means we can accelerate our plans to promote the freight industry at the heart of parliament.”
Geoff Dunning, chief executive, Road Haulage Association says: “This appointment will give a real boost to the industry’s representation in parliament and ensure that the All Party Freight Group can develop and deliver a meaningful action plan that will make our voice more influential.
“We are already in the process of arranging for Sam to visit association members who will be able to provide him with a broad and varied overview of the industry, its many processes, the legislation and of course the conditions under which it operates”.
