Sofrigam plans to grow temperature-controlled packaging business in UK

Rueil-Malmaison, France: Sofrigam, a French supplier and manufacturer of temperature-controlled packaging, has ambitious plans for its newly launched website coldshop.com aimed at the UK and Irish markets.

Coldshop.com is a refrigerant packaging and accessories e-commerce website aimed at “the last miles” market, providing temperature-controlled packaging to hospitals/ patients and for high-end foods and other products such as temperature-sensitive cosmetics.

Sofribag  cooler bagsThis year Sofrigam is focusing on a promotional campaign for Coldshop. Next year it expects to appoint a dedicated sales manager and by 2015 Sofrigram hopes to open a warehouse and showroom in the UK. The warehouse is likely to be located in London, possibly near the Eurostar terminal.

In France Sofrigam has been running its own website – laboutiquedufroid.com for 10 years.

Packaging products sold via the websites have all been developed and extensively tested by an approved laboratory. Products include insulated boxes; isothermal boxes; cooler bags; gel bags; textile ice boxes; refrigerated pouches and pallet shippers.

Overall, Sofrigam has growth plans to rank in the top three positions worldwide for temperature-controlled packaging.

Laetitia Perche, marketing director at Sofrigam, says: “We are number one in Europe on turnover and we are in the top five worldwide at the moment but our aim is to be in the top three worldwide. Each year our turnover grows by between 10-15%.”
