Speedier transits through Antwerp port from January

Antwerp, Brussels: Refrigerated products of animal origin should move faster through the Port of Antwerp from January 2012 once border inspection activities are centralised.

From 1 January next year the customs & excise and food safety departments will integrate their procedures. The one-stop-shopping inspection avoids multiple delays and also centralises the administrative processing of perishables, says the European Cold Storage and Logistics Association.
