Alcester, UK: The Stobart Group is looking to close its Alcester distribution centre as well as Corby it has been revealed.
Eddie Stobart is consulting with around 200 staff at Alcester. However, Stobart is investing in a new chilled distribution warehouse at Magna Park near Lutterworth.
Last week the group revealed that it is focusing on restructuring its chilled and warehousing operations which are performing below the previous financial year.
The restructuring includes the chilled depot closures at Corby and Alcester. A spokesman said: “The restructuring will result in a more efficient operation to take advantage of future market opportunities.”
