Carlisle, UK: Eddie Stobart Chilled Distribution division has ordered 20 Thermo King SLX-200 trailer refrigeration units for a new trailer order.
Marshall Fleet Solutions, which maintains all Eddie Stobart’s multimodal refrigerated trailers, is supplying the fridges for use on trucks in Stobart’s chilled distribution division handling fresh fruit, vegetables and salads.
The SLX-200 is one of the latest models that can reduce fuel consumption by up to 20% based on test results. Dale Foster, managing director of Stobart Chilled, said: “The chilled division runs a fleet of over 300 high specification dual compartment multi-temperature trailers; every part of the transport chain has to operate at the highest food safety standards.
“We believe Marshall will meet those standards which is why we selected their equipment and service cover,” he says.
Andrew Howells, managing director of Marshall Fleet Solutions says the contract marks “the start of an emerging relationship with Stobart.”
“Stobart Chilled handles over 60,000 pallets every week; Marshall is going to be a crucial part of their success in keeping the Stobart trailers on the road,” he says.
