Dublin, Ireland: Trans-Stock Warehousing & Cold Storage received its ISO certification from John Perry, TD, Minister of State with responsibility for small business.
Minister Perry commended the companies for success in pursuing a continuous improvement strategy for their businesses and their customers at a recent certification event hosted by National Standards Authority of Ireland.
Irish companies were urged to pursue international management standards, such as ISO, as an essential business strategy in response to continuing commercial pressures being experienced in business today.
Trans-Stock Warehousing & Cold Storage were awarded ISO 9001:2008, the internationally recognised Quality Management System. Trans-Stock Warehousing & Cold Storage specializes in providing temperature-controlled warehousing to Irish and international businesses in the drinks, meat and dairy industries. It has 20 employees at Ferrybank, Waterford.
Speaking at the award event, held in NSAI’s Dublin office, Perry said, “The question for Irish industry is not what you gain from standards and certification, it’s the business opportunities lost without them.
“Globally recognised standards such as ISO provides you with instant credibility, they differentiate your products, services and business. They improve efficiency, helping you to conserve money, manpower, time, facilities, and natural resources, as well as breaking down trade barriers and opening doors in new markets.”
NSAI certified more than 120 Irish companies in various ISO management systems last year.
