UDG adds 28 Scanias to the fleet

Alfreton, UK: Healthcare product distributor Unidrug Distribution Group (UDG) has acquired 28 Scania R445LA6x2/4, 3 axle tractor units for its ambient and refrigerated vehicle fleet.

The vehicles, supplied through Contract Hire company Charthire, are in UDG’s distinctive purple livery and have high-end specification.

Mark Langton, director of operations, UDG says: “UDG chose this model on the basis that we cover all UK deliveries from our base at South Normanton so UDG’s drivers are often on Nights Out, 2 to 3 a week in some instances…One of the key driver requests was a higher cab to give the drivers the space to stand up in the cab when getting changed, a fridge and plenty of cupboard space… in the main the drivers preference was Scania over other manufacturers and the fact that the current Model does not have to use Ad Blue was another large factor in UDG’s decision making.”

Unidrug Distribution Group has four MHRA approved warehouses with the capacity for 90,000 ambient pallets, 4,000 refrigerated pallets, and facilities for frozen pallets and cryogenic products.
