The road transport industry in Scotland has announced its third biennial Scottish Transaid Dinner, which will take place at the Macdonald Inchyra Hotel & Spa near Grangemouth on Thursday 4 June 2026.
Two previous dinners have each raised more than £100,000 through ticket sales, sponsorship and a generous charity auction for international development organisation Transaid. Funds from the events in 2022 and 2024 have supported Transaid’s life-saving access to healthcare and road safety initiatives across sub-Saharan Africa, including the development of new pilot projects.
Joan Aitken, chair of Transaid and former Scottish Traffic Commissioner, says: “It has been incredible to see the transport industry come together for this event on both previous occasions in 2022 and 2024. The bar has been set incredibly high, with more than 300 colleagues attending last year’s event, drawn from across Scotland’s road transport industry.
“Corporate support has also grown, with truck dealers, manufacturers, transport operators, industry suppliers and trade associations moving promptly to secure tables. We’re returning to the same fantastic venue next year, and we look forward to seeing this event continue to expand.”
McGill’s Bus Group and The Malcolm Group have been quick to come on board as early sponsors, with additional opportunities available to suit all budgets.
A headline entertainment act is due to be announced in the coming months, building on the success of Scottish comedian Ray Bradshaw’s appearance last year, following his highly successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe.
Tables of 10 at the event are priced at £1,000, or there’s the option to purchase individual tickets at £100 per person. For all ticket sales and sponsorship enquiries, please contact Lynsey Craik at ScottishTransaidDinner@hotmail.com.
