Nisa hands DHL a three-year contract extension

Scunthorpe, UK: Grocery wholesaler Nisa Retail has signed a three-year contract extension with DHL for warehousing and transport.

Under the agreement DHL will continue to provide warehousing, transport, and other ancillary services for Nisa throughout the UK, across chilled, ambient and frozen products, supplying 1,400 partner retailers. The deal is expected to focus on increasing delivery efficiency while reducing mileage, carbon emissions and reviewing any further collaboration opportunities.

Kerinne Oliver, Nisa’s head of logistics, said: “Nisa has enjoyed a great relationship with DHL and have been supported exceptionally well through the ongoing Covid-19 crisis.

“The extension of the contract with a partner of DHL’s scale will help support Nisa in developing its routes and supply chain whilst allowing us to increase our supplied network of partners.”

Jim Hartshorne, managing director of retail and consumer at DHL Supply Chain, said: “This renewal is a fantastic result for DHL and all the team on the Nisa account who have worked tirelessly over the whole term of the last agreement to demonstrate the strength of our partnership.”

The extension takes the deal to 2023. DHL and Nisa Retail have had a business relationship since 2009.
