Dublin, Ireland: Agro Merchants Group is planning a new coldstore in Food Central, Dublin, Ireland.
The new building is next to Agro’s existing operation opened last year. Completion of the new coldstore is expected by the end of next year.
The building will have 20,000 frozen and chilled pallet spaces, refrigerated dock space and blast freezing to handle around 1,000 tonnes per week.
Agro operates five cold stores in Ireland and Northern Ireland as well as 500 refrigerated trailers and 200 tractors.
“The Republic of Ireland and UK represent an important strategic region for our global cold store network,” said Carlos Rodriguez, chief executive, Agro Merchants Group.
“Agro’s purchase of our first Dublin facility last year was part of a longer-term vision to invest at the Food Central location. The response from customers has been incredible, and we now have the opportunity to accelerate our plans in order to support increasing local demand for cold storage and value-added services.”
