Logistics UK urges public not to panic buy

Tunbridge Wells, UK: Logistics UK is warning the public not to panic buy following Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s new restrictions designed to crack down on the spread of coronavirus.

“Logistics coped with the increased demand for essential products during lockdown and will do so again,” said Logistics UK.

Social media is already reporting panic buying of pasta, toilet rolls and other essential items. However, retailers including Tesco and Sainsbury’s, stressed they had plenty of capacity online and in-store, and had not seen any signs of bulk buying, according to the Telegraph.

Johnson introduced a range of new restrictions including forcing pubs, bars and restaurants to close at 10pm; encouraging people to work from home where possible; asking staff in retail and indoor hospitality, along with taxi drivers and passengers, to wear masks; making Covid-secure workplace rules a legal obligation; amending the rule of six so that only 15 people can attend weddings; suspending the easing of rules for sports events due to come in from October.
