Brexit advice sites for drivers open this month

London, UK: The government has opened five advice sites for hauliers to help with the new rules and documents needed to move goods between the UK and EU from 1 January 2021 – with another 40 sites to open on 16 November.

The five sites are:

  • Ashford International Truck Stop
  • Carlisle Stobart Truck Stop
  • Cullompton
  • Rugby Stobart Truck Stop
  • Warrington Lymm

Drivers can visit the sites for “in-person advice” on how to prepare for the changes and how to use the new “Check an HGV service”. This checks whether a lorry has the right EU import and commodities documents for the goods it is carrying before it crosses the GB / EU border.

Operators must use this service for HGVs travelling via the Port of Dover or Eurotunnel to get a Kent Access Permit before they enter Kent.
