Tesco offers subsidiary’s vehicles and warehouses for vaccine distribution

London, UK: Tesco has offered to help with the government’s coronavirus vaccine roll out programme, using refrigerated vehicles and warehouses run by its subsidiary Best Food Logistics (formerly Bidvest Logistics).

According to press reports, Best Food – owned by Tesco division Booker Group – has spare capacity because thousands of pubs and restaurants are currently shut due to Tier restrictions.

Health Secretary Matt Hancock has said that 530,000 doses of the newly authorised Oxford University/AstraZeneca vaccine will be available from Monday, 4 January.

Best’s website states that it runs five depots, operating a multi-temperature, shared customer delivery network.
