Tesco takes another 45 Iveco Daily chassis for home delivery

Basildon, UK: Tesco has taken another 45 Daily chassis for its home delivery fleet with 600 more set for delivery this year.

Tesco has been buying Iveco vans for over a decade and since 2010 has had 5,144 chassis, all with insulated bodies.

The latest batch to join the 900 Dailies already in Tesco’s fleet have 136hp diesel engines and 8-speed automated gearbox. Cost saving options fitted include tyre pressure monitoring, reverse alarm, touch-screen for navigation and radio and telematics connecting the vehicle to Iveco’s to monitoring system.

Tesco operates its vehicles for up to five years dependent on mileage, and it expects the new Daily units will clock up around 30,000 miles each year.

Solomon Commercials will supply and fit all the insulated bodies.
