Brittany Ferries boosts Spanish ferry services

Portsmouth, UK: Brittany Ferries’ ro-pax ferry Cap Finistère returns to service on the Portsmouth to Bilbao route.

The restart follows a six-month break sailings forced by coronavirus travel restrictions, and consequent drop in freight and passenger demand.

With demand returning the first Cap Finistère sailing of 2021 will depart Portsmouth for Bilbao at 17:00 on Monday 19 July.

The ship has three weekly round trips linking the UK and Spanish ports, with sailing times to suit hauliers, Brittany Ferries says. These include weekend departures leaving Portsmouth on Saturday lunchtimes and departing Bilbao on Sunday afternoons getting around weekend driving bans in France.

Cap Finistère’s return brings Brittany Ferries’ UK to Spain routes back to previous levels with four ships linking Portsmouth, Poole and Plymouth with Santander and Bilbao in northern Spain.
