E-Power launches last mile delivery trucks

Oldham, UK: E-Power Trucks has expanded its light truck range with two new models.

The electric vehicles, the X-Cell and X-Cell micro, are designed for couriers, parcel delivery and last mile logistics applications.

They have top speeds of up to 50mph with a range of up to 120 miles and can carry half a tonne.

Two models in the X-Cell Micro range have a top speed of 25mph, payloads of 250kg or 100kg, and a range of up to 55 miles. The Micro can be customised with a refrigeration box.

Bobby Cullen, sales director north, said: “The X-Cell series further expands our unique offering in all-electric last mile delivery vehicles. The last mile is often the costliest as well as a significant contributor to emissions. These compact, safe, all-electric vehicles can help change that.”

The X-Cell cab has a reinforced steel frame for increased protection. In the event of a collision, the impact energy is reduced and evenly distributed via the cab’s steel beams.

These frame reinforcement points also help optimise stability, giving it more predictable road handling. The battery pack is fitted at the bottom of the vehicle, making the centre of gravity lower than similar vans in its class and reducing the risk of rollover.

Jamie Radcliffe, sales director south for E-PowerTrucks, said: “Research shows that over half of delivery vans travel no more than 15 miles away from their bases, making this a very viable, compact vehicle for city area deliveries and collections.”
