Åskollen, Tønsberg, Norway: Glacio is to build the largest cold storage site in Norway.
Glacio’s new warehouse is expected to be completed by June 2023 and will have a fully automated high-bay warehouse and space for 55,000 pallets, says ColdChainManagement.org.
In addition to storage, the new Åskollen warehouse will offer transport, freezing, thawing and other services for Glacio’s network of regional customers.
Espen Karlsen, chief executive and co-founder of Glacio, said: “We have already received significant orders for the new warehouse. I believe that we can act as an attractive logistics partner for the market if we can offer storage of frozen, chilled and dry goods and combine this with freezing, thawing, packing, picking and transport.”
Glacio handles temperature-controlled storage and transport for food producers, traders, and wholesalers in Norway and western Sweden. The Glacio Group is part of the Constellation Cold Logistics network and is owned by Arcus Infrastructure Partners in Europe.
